A Hopi ear candle treatment is deeply relaxing , calming and soothing.
Hopi Ear Candling (also known as Thermal Auricular Therapy) is a pleasant and non-invasive treatment of the ears, used to treat a variety of conditions. The ear candles induce a revitalising heat upon the head and ears, which soothes, relieves and relaxes. It is a deeply relaxing and calming treatment in cases of anxiety and stress.
It is an ancient and natural therapy handed down by many civilisations.
However, the practice reached the modern world via the Native American Indian tribe known as Hopis or Peace People. The candles work on a chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed. They balance the pressure in the head and ears, making them suitable for most conditions. Secretion flow is gently stimulated and the vapour collects and removes impurities or deposits. The lymph system and metabolism are improved. Psychological and spiritual benefits have also been associated with the treatment

What To Expect
You will be made to feel comfortable laying on your back
The traditional method is used with clients lying comfortably on his or her side with the ear facing up. The head and shoulders are covered with towels.
You will have a pre treatment pressure point facial massage.
The candle is then inserted into the ear canal without force. When a seal is obtained, the top of the candle is ignited. If smoke leaks out around the ear canal, a better seal is obtained by rotating the candle slowly. The person should hear cracking and popping sounds as the candle burns.
Hopi ear candles are not a traditional candle but are a hollow tube made using organic cotton or flax, pure beeswax, honey extract and traditional herbs. Ear candling has become a popular therapy in the west and is used to help a wide range of symptoms, not only those associated with the ears. The treatment also encourages a deeply relaxed state in which the body is better able to fight imbalances.
Once the candle has burned down and both ears have been treated, you will then receive a drainage massage on your face and neck and finished with a relaxing facial massage.
Adult treatment approx 45 minutes £40
A lot of people feel a release of pressure or clearer sinuses straight after the treatment . Longer standing problems may require more sessions.
Following the treatment, in the next few days you may also experience the following:
increased wax discharge. the candles work on softening built up ear wax and it may have freed it up enough to create wax discharge
More visits to the toilet to get rid of waste and toxins
Increase in mucous from nasal passages, this is normal and a sign of blockages being unblocked.
Changes in sleep pattern – usually improved
Increased appetite due to increase in metabolic rate
Feeling of fullness in ears. This may lead to a temporary reduced hearing. More treatments may be required to loosen the wax before it is expelled naturally
